New things
Ruby is starting to really understand and use her sign language. She enjoys bubbles and I usually sit her in the highchair and blow them for her, yesterday I sat her in the highchair to feed her and she saw the bubbles on the counter and started signing for bubbles.I told her ,"No, lets eat first," and she got mad and signed bubbles again ,so needless to say, we played bubbles before she ate.She has been watching her 'Baby Signing Time' videos everyday and learned the sign for 'all done.'This morning I was giving her a bottle of milk and she started getting full and she signed all done.I'm so excited to see her progress in this area because I was a little discouraged about it last month. It seems like she is having a burst of learning new things right now.

Oh I love Ruby's persistence to blow more bubbles! I found that Gabe had bursts of development, too, and using ASL was one of those things. Even the little boy that I babysit (he only turned two years old) has only recently began using a few signs I've been teaching him.
I just love your header pic so much.♥
That's so exciting! Way to go Ruby!
I know how that discouragement sneaks up on us. Remember that our kids are like bank accounts--we keep depositing things into them, and eventually they will overflow with interest.
That is great! It sure does help when they are able to communicate just a little bit with us! Good job Ruby!
I'm just so excited for Ruby and you. I remember feeling discouraged about signing too and doing all sorts of research about when it would "happen" and it finally did. Now we can't get Marissa to stop! haha, Signing is so, so wonderful. I can't say enough great thins about it.
I love the new picture of Ruby.
Way to go Ruby!!
the signing time videos are so great! Great signing Ruby!
that is so awesome!!! i LOVE signing time - we had quite a few signing time dvds with our older daughter anne... i need to be better about showing them to whitney (although i do sign with her and she definitely is picking up on the signs!) i LOVE your story about the bubbles and how Ruby demanded bubbles by signing bubbles before she wanted to eat, so cute! :)
Awww, sounds like she's doing great. How funny that bubbles were more important than food. She has her priorities...
