Sleep issues

Ruby will hardly sleep any at all during the day unless I'm holding her. When she does sleep she only sleeps for 30 minutes to an hour at a time.If I put her down she wakes right up! I know I probably have just made her rotten! I'm afraid to let her cry very much because it seems like she has a hard time breathing if she gets upset.Especially lately because her nose has been so congested from colds she keeps getting. She does sleep at night from midnight to 8 a.m. ,which is a MUCH better improvement over when she was 2 and 3 months old and would stay awake all night!

I forgot to tell you I used to put Goldie in the Ergo when she was a baby, like 8 weeks old. Wear her in front of you and keep her legs tucked in under her bottom. At least that way you can move around while she's asleep.

Ruby didn't seem to want me to carry her in the Ergo when she was smaller. She's getting close to 6 months old so I'm going to try putting her on my back.Maybe she will like the view of the world from back there:)I'll post some pics if she likes it.

My Ruby did not sleep well until she was 6 months old & eating oatmeal. She just never settled down! She didn't nap, but slept about 8 hours at night. I was so grateful for every moment of sleep!

Your Ruby is beautiful!!!

I wonder if Ruby is affected by sleep apnea? I know when Gabe is stuffed up (crying, colds) the extra fluid makes it hard for him to breathe regularly while sleeping. This causes constant arousals for him. Maybe you could ask for a sleep study for Ruby?

John doesn't sleep much during the day either, maybe an hour or two. He sleeps during the night for 8 hours. It wears me out when he is up all day but I would rather have him sleep all night. When John has a stuffy nose, he can't eat that well so I have been using the Ayr Nasal Gel to loosen it if he is stuffy and then I take the "vacuum" better known as the bulb syringe and suck it out. He hates it but it works.

Sydney was the SAME story... she barely slept during the day and if I was lucky enough to get her to sleep, if I put her down, it was all over with. It does get better. Now, she takes two naps a day in her crib. Whew!
